Leonard Cohen didn't want to witness what is about to unfold...and made his exit the day after the election!

Come Healing

O gather up the brokenness
And bring it to me now
The fragrance of those promises
You never dared to vow
The splinters that you carry
The cross you left behind
Come healing of the body
Come healing of the mind
And let the heavens hear it
The penitential hymn
Come healing of the spirit
Come healing of the limb
Behold the gates of mercy
In arbitrary space
And none of us deserving
The cruelty or the grace
O solitude of longing
Where love has been confined
Come healing of the body
Come healing of the mind
O see the darkness yielding
That tore the light apart
Come healing of the reason
Come healing of the heart
O troubled dust concealing
An undivided love
The Heart beneath is teaching
To the broken Heart above
O let the heavens falter
And let the earth proclaim:
Come healing of the Altar
Come healing of the Name
O longing of the branches
To lift the little bud
O longing of the arteries
To purify the blood
And let the heavens hear it
The penitential hymn
Come healing of the spirit
Come healing of the limb

My friends, let us have faith in each other, let us not grow weary and lose heart, for there are more seasons to come and there is more work to do."

    2. This is not the time to falter!
Do not give up so easily!
      Fight on!

  2. Leonard's passing adds to our sense of loss at this dark time. At this dark moment in time, the news that Leonard has completed his journey through life further burdens our hearts with grief.
Yet we can find solace in the hope that fills Cohen's poems/songs (light pours from between his words)as they accompany us in our own journey--our own search for meaning, our own search for God and a life of integrity and dignity; and our own effort to create a better world.
So that in the end we too may say: "I did my best"!
