staggering number of refugees confined to concentration camps

Humanitarian catastrophe:
To understand the sheer scale of the Syrian refugee situation, here's a picture of a Syrian refugee camp in Jordan.

There are another 2 million refugees in Turkey!

Many are escaping the oppressive conditions of tbese camps in a desperate flight to Europe, the land of hope!

  1. " refugees are choking to death and drowning trying to escape the unspeakable horrors they have faced
and yet all some people can say is, "Europe needs to do something and stop the influx of immigrants."
Yes, It was their choice to take the ride,
but not because they were criminals,
but because they were the innocent victims of war chasing the hope to live like any other human being "

the Hajj (annual Moslem pilgramage to Mecca) will start on Sept. 22 with an estimated 2 million attendees.
In 2013, more than 3.1 million pilgrims arrived.
These tents will house some of these pilgrams for the duration of their stay.

Saudi Arabia is rich with oil and can well afford to step up to assist the Moslem refugees fleeing worn-torn regions of the Middle East

  4. 5000 people per day continue to flow northward through the Balkan corridor.

Europe continues to be inundated by Moslem refugees.
There appears to be no solution and no end to this humanitarian crisis....as Europeans are forced to stretch beyond their comfort zone and share with those who have nothing.

  5. War affects us all.

Isn't it telling that armed conflict in the Middle East has destabilized the security of Europe.
State borders are totally ineffective in holding back the flood of pepple escaping from war-ravaged regions.

    1. The best way to stop the out-of-control exodus of refugees out of the Middle East and into beleaguered Europe is to address the intolerable conditions from wch the refugees are fleeing.
No one leaves their home in search of safety unless the conditions at home are desperrate!
Leaving home is less perilous than remaining.

  6. mass migration to the lands of "milk and honey"

    the illegal immigration issue:
    its not racism;its self-preservation!

all this is applicable to Europe today!

Frosty Wooldridge predicts that America will not be sustainable if the country proceeds on its present course, adding 138 million people over the next 35 years, mainly through immigration. This equates to doubling the size of our 35 most populated cities, with New York City jumping from 8.3 million 16.6 million, Chicago from 5 million to 10 million, and Los Angeles from 11 million to 22 million. "Exponential growth cannot be sustained-- it ultimately ends in a complete collapse of civilization," he said, citing previous fallen societies such as the Maya. If the United States tries to house, feed, and educate millions of refugees and immigrants, it will end up becoming a third world country itself. Most of the immigrants to the US are not prepared to function in a first world country, lack English skills, and collect food stamps or work minimum wage jobs, he remarked, "and so we're driving down the quality of life and standard of living in America." Wooldridge proposes the shutdown of all immigration, creating severe fines for anyone hiring illegal aliens, stopping welfare payments to non-citizens, and ending the "anchor baby" birthright citizenship practice, in which newborns automatically become citizens

    1. Wealthy societies are morally obligated to help those fleeing armed conflict and deep poverty. The wealthy perceive the flow of migrants as a security threat and a threat to their own lucrative lifestyles(eroding their "standard of living"). The "haves" are pulling up the drawbridges, reinforcing borders, building walls to stem the inundation of the "have nots".

    2. anti-immigrant sentiment on the rise

America is a nation of immigrants

"It is odd that the United States has begun to turn its back on the cornerstone principles of her founding. From the inception of America it had been a mainstay of its consciousness that the fabric of our nation would be woven from the threads of myriad national and ethnic identities. We would be the melting pot of all nations.
The vast majority of Americans are descendents of immigrants, yet we often act as if today's immigrants don't deserve what we do, that we have something to protect from their encroachment, that they pose a threat to our core values, our lifestyle, our identity.
It seems paradoxical that we would brag about our ancestors' coming over on the Mayflower, yet condemn someone trying to do the very same thing today.
Of course there are immigrants who abuse our system, just as there are people born here who abuse our system.
But the truth is that the majority of today's immigrants bring with them an infusion of the same values that our ancestors personified, the values America is so sorely lacking. They are people willing to work hard to make a better life for themselves.
Our children do not stand to be corrupted by their values, so  much as their children stand to be corrupted by ours.
The scapegoating of today's immigrants makes a mockery of the American dream.
It is a national immorality when we say no to compassion.
The have-nots have become the "haves", but we who are descendents of those who "had not" are refusing to treat others as we have been treated.
We now feel superior as though we have more rights and privileges than others."

  13. Flood of desperate migrants continuue to ("invaders"?)inundate Europe. They flee across state borders in desperate search of safety and opportunity for a better life.

Unresolved regional conflicts are disrupting people's lives causing displacement, migration, asylum claims, and immense suffering/trauma.

Anti-immigrant sentiment has become the norm as the refugees overwhelm national resources and threaten priveleged lifestyles.

Target countries are reinforcing borders and barriers to stop being inundated by migrants.
