Shouldn't that be government of the 100%, for the 1%!
ReplyDeleteBetrayal of the social contract:
ReplyDeleteThe smooth functioning of all our institutions is based upon the existence of "trust".
If this trust is betrayed and demonstrated to be misplaced ,the institutions become dysfunctional and the social order disintegrates
into chaos and anarchy.
Without "trust" the fragile veneer of civil order collapses like a destabilized house of cards.
Honesty and integrity generate trust!
It's the 1% that's doing the governing ,and it's the 100% that is being sheared ..er governed.
ReplyDeleteInstead of a grassroots bottom-up democracy ,what is passing for democracy in America today is characterizwd by top-down control
of the majority by a very wealthy minority.
Big Money runs the US government, not the people!
DeleteThere is also a new definition of "dictatorship":
ReplyDeleteIt's now called a "managed democracy"!!
It seems that between the ideal and the reality falls the shadow --consisting of fifty shades of grey!!
"Unbridled/unfettered power" is the definition of dictatorship
DeleteNo democracy is more "managed" than the Canadian democracy under the leadership of Steven Harper!

ReplyDeleteThe Hill Times tallies the number of people employed by the government for the purposes of “communications.
”The Hill Times went through the government electronic directory service to get a rough idea of how many communications staffers—people paid to help craft and disseminate any given government message—currently work in the public service, ministerial offices, the PMO axnd the PCO. In all, there are currently around 1,500 communications staffers working in government offices and departments across Canada, including 87 in the PMO and PCO.
That’s roughly five for every MP. And if that total doesn’t include staff employed by opposition MPs and leaders’ offices, the ratio is even higher.
It's called "marketing"!
ReplyDeleteor "managing the message"
or "public relations"
Pretty much tbe same methods can be used to market an idea or a brand as any other product!
